| Having come from a long line of storytellers
it was somewhat natural for me to gravitate to narrative art as a form
of personal expression.
"Southern Discomfort" offers reflections from my
childhood -- the people, events, and "fears" which influenced my being. "In Character" is a series of paintings that explores
self-images related to my experience with the diagnosis, treatment, and
recovery associated with tonsil cancer. "Splitting" For many years I have been intrigued with the “hidden” parts of people…those parts that few are aware of…the hidden part. That interest has led in the current development of my work, which explores not only those parameters-but also contrasts of the past and the present. "Holiday Cards" The longest on-going series that I have done has been this collection of pen and ink drawings for our annual family Christmas card.
