This body of work reflects my ongoing fascination with “deceptive appearances” and “pretending normalcy.” Perhaps this fascination stems from my Southern childhood where such traits were instilled along with manners and cleanliness.
Through my obsession with bright colors and patterns, I seek to offer intriguing juxtapositions of characteristics inherent in everyone. Dichotomies of: wholesome—decadent; normal—abnormal; past—present; positive—negative.
