Kathy Ferrell Chambers holds a BFA from Valdosta State College in Georgia and an MFA in printmaking from Auburn University in Alabama. She was an art instructor at Richland College, Dallas Baptist University, and Collin County College (all in Texas) prior to moving to Atlanta in 1988. In Atlanta Kathy taught classes at Dunwoody School for the Arts and developed a love of painting while studying with Joseph Perrin, professor emeritus, Georgia State University. She is currently an adjunct professor at the College of Lake County in the Communication Arts division.
Kathy currently lives in a Chicago suburb. She paints, freelances, and does volunteer work. Kathy is a frequent guest artist and lecturer at various colleges, schools, organizations, and art groups, including a lecture titled "Art and Design" at the Dallas Museum of Art. She has shown her work in juried and invitational exhibitions since 1974. Her work is represented internationally in private collections and the permanent collection of Auburn University.
